Mrs. O'Connell’s Class with their mini me creations that show all the bones and muscles
in the human body! This was a hands-on Science lesson that the students enjoyed working on.

The early childhood department was delighted by an in-school field trip that brought
Mother Goose to St. Linus. She told some of her most well-known stories and included the children
in her story telling! Mrs. Keane’s Preschool class was fascinated by Mother Goose and all her props.

Congratulations to our 1st Graders who finished their after school Chess Class.
The class is brought to us by the FTC and is a big hit with students young and old!

Our Preschoolers had a wonderful time releasing their butterflies from their habitats.
They spent weeks watching them emerge from their cocoons
and then when they were fully formed butterflies they let them go.
Two of them had a hard time saying goodbye and hung around on a bush for a while.

Thank you to everyone who came out to Chick-Fil-A for St. Linus Spirit Day!
A portion of the proceeds from that day will be coming back to St. Linus!
Lots of families came out and had a great time together.

Jack Lundy, Brian Bayers, Eric Grajeda, and John Dillon
working on a Volcano Project in Science class.
Students are building their own volcanoes and preparing them for eruption.

The 6th and 8th Grade Class took a trip to the Shrine of Christ’s Passion in Indiana.
They were very moved by the Exhibit that replicates Christ’s last walk to his crucifixion.
The Millennium Mary statue is also there and the students had a group picture taken with her.

1st Grader Kaitlyn Faragoi won a coloring contest sponsored by the Oak Lawn Fire Department!
Her prize was a ride to school on a fire truck! Kaitlyn showed up with three of her good friends
on Monday morning. One of the firemen is a St. Linus Graduate Class of 1976, Chris McGinnis.

The 5th Graders did their book reports on biographies of someone they admired.
These are a few of the students who dressed up to look like the person
on whom they chose to do their report!

The Sixth graders posed with their contribution to the Derby Student Art Auction.
This year’s Derby was truly a community event.
Students, parents and parishioners all took part in making this event a success.

Our preschoolers took some time out to observe
the newest addition to their classroom, Caterpillars.
These fellas will soon turn into butterflies right before the students’ eyes.
The preschool recently acquired a butterfly habitat that will enhance their curriculum about nature.

On April 21 our 7th Graders traveled to Springfield
where they were able to visit Lincoln’s Home, Museum and tomb.
They also had the chance to visit the Capitol and observe a live session of the General Assembly.
This trip is sure to become a beloved tradition.
