THE WOMEN'S CENTER - During June 2017

Pregnant women in difficult situations often find themselves feeling confused, under pressure and alone. At The Women’s Center our counselors help them with friendship, counseling, and material assistance. We have saved over 39,000 women and their babies from the horrible consequences of abortion. We receive beautiful “thank you” letters and we thank you for your help.

We need 5 infant car seat/carriers, (these must be less than 7 years old). 4 toddler beds, 5 walkers, 5 high chairs, 4 strollers, 2 double strollers, 6 fixed side cribs, 4 rocking chairs, 6 umbrella strollers, 4 dressers and 4 swings. It will be a great help if you can deliver these to us. For our address, or if a pick -up by a volunteer is needed, please call at 773-794-1313. We also need diapers in sizes 5 and 6. These cannot be picked up unless accompanied by baby furniture. The families who receive these things are grateful for your generosity.

THE PLOWS COUNCIL ON AGING - Ongoing Event

Nutritious Meals Delivered to Seniors’ Homes - PLOWS Council on Aging’s Home Delivered Meals (HDM) can provide the nutrition necessary for seniors to remain healthy and independent. Seniors, age 60 and over, who have difficulty preparing nourishing meals or grocery shopping may be eligible for the HDM program. Meals are delivered by trusted volunteers Monday through Friday in the morning. Meal delivery also serves as a well-being check for homebound seniors. There is a suggested donation for meals, but services will not be terminated if the client is unable to meet that contribution.

Requesting meals is as simple as calling PLOWS at 708- 361-0219. Our intake caseworker can explain the process and get it started.

The PLOWS Council on Aging is a 501(c)3 organization serving seniors and their families throughout suburban Cook County in Palos, Lemont, Orland and Worth Townships. Those living outside the PLOWS area can find their agency by calling the Illinois Senior Help Line at 1-800- 252-8966. For more information see our website at www.plows.org.
