Our 3rd and 4th Grade Brownies and Juniors recently made blankets
for a local organization ‘knitting it together’ that donates blankets to adult cancer patients.
They understood that blankets can offer comfort to others, especially those that are not feeling well.
They worked hard to make 7 blankets to donate and at the end of our meeting,
we said a Hail Mary and Our Father to pray over the blankets as they reach someone in need.
They are the nicest girls!

Preschoolers working on feather patterns while making turkeys!
Here are three from Mrs. Spiguzza’s PreK Class.

Here is Mrs. Bourjas’ 4th Grade Class showing off their Turkey Art Projects
before we started our Thanksgiving break!

Our 5th Grade Students went to Christmas Around the World
at the Museum of Science and Industry!
They had a marvelous time checking out the trees and other exhibits!

Mrs. Blackburn’s Kindergarten Class made turkeys to celebrate Thanksgiving.
Here are the boys from her class showing off their masterpieces!

Our 5th Grade Students did Biography reports on famous people for Library!
They presented their person to the rest of their class during Library!
The biographies were on politicians, athletes, singers and inventors. Great job 5th grade!

The Students in Ms. Anderson's 2nd Grade Class
are currently learning about the water cycle.
Recently they conducted an experiment to help them understand
the different properties of salt water vs. fresh water.
Here are Jacob Lipetzky and Danny O'Grady comparing
what happens to an egg in the two types of water.

Our Preschool Classes took a trip to the Beverly Arts Center
to see the classic play Alice in Wonderland!
The students and teachers had a great time and were fortunate
to meet some of the actors after the play was over.
How lucky are we that we have such great arts entertainment right in our backyard.

We celebrated Veterans’ Day with our traditional Assembly
that included honoring our Vets with song, words and thanks.
Our 8th Graders played two beautiful patriotic songs on the chimes and our student body sang
many other songs to show our veterans how much we appreciate them.

Our Brownie Troop decorated a tree at Brookfield Zoo.
All the ornaments on the tree were made by our
2nd Grade troop and Mrs. Dougherty’s Preschool Class.
If anyone wants to see our tree when they head to Zoo Lights,
we are tree #468 in front of the Discovery Center.

Our 11th Annual Turkey Trot was another huge success.
We had record numbers with 461 registered runners!
It was a beautiful morning and we had students, parents,
parishioners, alums and friends of St. Linus participating.
The funds raised help our technology initiatives and fund the Erica Heilmann Scholarship.
Thank you to all.

Our 5th Grade Girls’ Basketball Team are the Champions
in the South Suburban Basketball League South Division.
We are so proud of them and their hard work. How great to end the season as Number 1!
